Well, that didn’t take long, did it? I thought rewriting the first Jeff Lincoln book would take a year, maybe, but it took quite a bit longer than I expected. Still, I’m glad I did it. It was written so long ago, none of the characters even had a mobile phone. There was no internet to speak of. Naturally, I updated it a little bit over the years, but I didn’t have the courage to overhaul it completely. Which is what it needed. 

The novel opens in late October, about six months before the opening of A Saintly Grave Disturbed, and nearly a year before The Shame of Innocence. I certainly didn’t set out to write my Jeff Lincoln books backwards, but that’s the way it’s turned out! I’m submitting the manuscript for some feedback, and I’m hoping to see it in print in 2019. In the meantime, I’m unearthing the bare bones of what will (I hope) be Jeff Lincoln book 4, The Promise of Salvation – I’ve almost forgotten what it was about, it’s so long since I worked on it!

This year has been busy, with presentations in various libraries and bookshops in Wiltshire and Somerset (and London!)  I’ve taken part in creative writing workshops as one of the three Stellar Scribes; and I’ve also written a few articles for ‘The Fisherton Informer’ magazine, which is all about Salisbury and its history – ancient and modern. 

Most of all, I’ve valued the feedback from readers who’ve enjoyed A Saintly Grave Disturbed and The Shame of Innocence – and I’m hoping that, in due course, they’ll enjoy The Price of Silence too.
